When Tomorrow Comes

Blog Blog Blerg

I live in Portland Oregon these days. I am nearly 26 years on this ball of dust. I am much more wise and all the more ignorant than when last I wrote.

I am a little over two week single and am full of thoughts and feelings. I also write this full of cinnamon laden caffeine.

The Pacific Northwest is a thing of beauty which everyone should see. To see a mountain peak off in the distance -whenever there aren't grey clouds hiding it- replaces my words with emotion. Arriving the first of June was spectacular. Spring was giving way to summer and everything was alive. Blackberries, strawberries, grapes, apples, pears all grew wild. Rosemary and lavender dot the yards of every plot in portland. It's was magical.
Now comes the season that Boston prepared me for: WINTER. The skills I'll use won't be battling snow dunes to make the bus on time but rather wrestling with grey skies and depression.

This is the perfect time to have your first self imposed break up right? Just before thanksgiving and christmas? Just when everyone is hunkering down with someone to hold?

I am unsure of the future. I am questioning everything and still I am suspicious of my commitment to finding actual answers.

I live in Portland Oregon these days, and it's just as much here as anywhere else is.

I think I Can, I think....

Here is sit afterwork mustering the strength to make the trek home.

A few days ago my rear bike tire blew out and I have yet to get a replacement. So in the mean time when I can't catch the bus I walk to work.

The thought spurring this post was "I think i'll call Adam". Then at the exact same moment remembering "Oh yeah, he refuses to have contact with me.

I wrote a letter that I plan on sending to him sometime in the next day or so. I attempted to convey to him how I feel day to day
and the confused state my heart finds itself in. I am also mailing back some clothes and other personal things I can no longer have in my life.

So yeah. We'll see how that goes.

In other news I have gone out the past two nights and have LOVED it!
last night found me at Paradise (which friends call parasite). They were hosting a block party and though hesitant at first my friend Peter coaxed me out. I ended up having a good time.

The club is known for it's GOGO boys which did not disappoint. While there Peter introduced me to a guy he has been seeing. Rob would be considered a bear....or bear cub? What I mean to say is that petite 5'2" Peter has a preference for larger men. Rob is cute and fun but standing next to Peter well....they are an odd couple but happy with each other

Lastly I am making the blog public. Not that I want more foot traffic, rather I have no reason now to have it private.

Today is a good day. Hopefully I will update more.
Though my writing is speratic and odd I find blogging cathartic and a nice release.

OH YEAH! Prop8 ruled unconstitutional! My fave video so far via That's Gay

P.S.

This was well done.

Actually had a few friends who attended "part of history".
Many are emotional. You would be to if your only media outlets were Limbaugh, Hannity, Fox News and the like.

WHA.... a post??

Yes a post.

I honestly just haven't been in a place to blog as of late. Not sure why, just haven't.

But I am writing now. :)

The move that was eluded to in a previous post has come and gone...gone as in not happening. A cousin of mine had offered a job with a new appliance company he is working for in a suburb of Cincinnati, OH. The owner of the branch, however told my cousin that he would rather him not do that right now. So *poof* no more job opportunity. It would have been a move, more pay, and an adventure, but as I said not anymore.

My boss, a native of Thailand had some uncharacteristically enlightening words to say when I rescinded my two weeks notice. He said, "M.[his wife] and I love you, and as long as you are here that be ok. It's like if you are in the desert and you have water but it is kind of like, salty or maybe has dirt in it, at least you have water. Someone may come along and say 'There is water 1 miles away and it is good and clean.' Yes there is other good water out there but you might just die on way to the 'better water'? Sometimes it be ok to just stay with dirty water, not forever but until you know you can make the journey"
:O
Sage sounding and good advice from an unlikely source.

In the meantime I'll enjoy the job I have that lets me set my own hours and take off for cool things like The Rescue event put on by Invisible Children

IC is a non-profit started by three twenty-somethings to help end the war in Uganda and stop the LRA.

On May 25th in over One Hundred cities around the world (yes the world. Even in Auckland...that means you Mr. DBT ;]) people will be abducting themselves just as Joseph Koney has abducted thousands of children to fight in his rebel army. We will be symbolicaly holding ourselves captive until rescued by a politician, mogul, or celebrity just as we hope the child soldiers will be rescued when their plight is brought to the forefront of daily discourse.

The fight for civil and human rights did not end in the 60's....it continues today for any man, woman or child soldier who is not free.

So I would ask you, humbly, to check them out. Some really cool people are getting involved. Kirsten Dunst, Fall out boy, Kristen Bell, Joel Madden and even a true "jackass" Steve-O is behind it! So come on!!
It's short notice and I don't know why I didn't blog about this sooner but I am now.

The plight of the Acholi people in Northern Uganda is something I am passionate about. See if there is anything you can do to help. :)

Until next time,

NEWS!

Spoke with the beau tonight, as I do most nights.

If I may indulge, he's the greatest person I know. His words and compliments never cease to make me smile and his voice would be enough to sustain a blind man's cravings for sight. Being far from his smiling face and oh so PERFERCT jaw line just makes me want him all the more. ;)

Anyway, the reason for this posting? I have some exciting news. It envolves me, and moving to a new place. I'll write more about that later. But for now just let your mind wander as to the where and why?!?!?!

-E

P.S. Yes the blind part is a bit cheesy ;)
